Air China launches direct Sydney-Chengdu services to Western China
BEIJING – Air China today inaugurated the first direct service to Australia from the western China city of Chengdu. It is offering three flights weekly direct to Sydney, departing Chengdu at 22:55 to arrive in Sydney at 12:35pm the following day. The return flight departs Sydney at 14:35, arriving in Chengdu at 22:35.
Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan province, China’s fifth most populous area, and its international airport is among the world’s busiest. The Chengdu-Sydney service is expected to bring 23.000 Chinese visitors to Australia annually, with an additional AUD89 million in visitor spending anticipated. www.airchina.com.au www.airchina.com.cn (ATI).
