Vietnam Airlines welcomes 100th aircraft to its fleet

HANOI - Vietnam Airlines has taken delivery of its 100th aircraft -- the third of eight Boeing 787-10's to be delivered between August 2019 and March 2021. Pham Ngoc Minh, Chairman of VN's Board of Directors, described the delivery as "a great symbol of the rising fortunes of Vietnam Airlines".

The airline began life as the first military transport aviation unit in Vietnam with a fleet of mainly combat aircraft manufactured by the Soviet Union. Subsequently, it took delivery of modern Boeing and Airbus aircraft to meet commercial transportation demands.

It now owns the second-largest wide-body fleet Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 fleet in Southeast Asia, and is continung fleet renewal by replacing aircraft more than 12 years old with new generation narrow-body and regional jets. (ATI).
