Malaysia Airlines denies one-day closure of departments on May 28

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia Airlines has issued a strong denial to reports in local newspapers that it will close several departments for a day on May 28. Operations will run as normal, MAS said in a statement.

“We have written to the said media indicating our displeasure that the article was written based on quotes from unofficial sources. The article has caused unnecessary anxiety among our customers and our staff alike,” a media statement said.

MAS said there had been intense speculation on the possible course of action to be undertaken by the Company following the MH370 incident. “At this juncture, a thorough review of the business plan is being undertaken and all avenues are being explored to ensure the long term sustainability of the Company.” It said. www.malaysiaairlines.com (ATI).
