Leighton wins Hong Kong power station works

HONG KONG – Leighton Asia has won an AUD148 million contract for civil works at Black Point Power Station, one of the world’s largest gas-fired combined cycle power stations, in Hong Kong’s New Territories.

Construction is scheduled to begin in coming weeks and to be complete by mid-2019.
Works include excavation and lateral supports, deep shafts and pipe jacking for a new cooling water intake and discharge facility to include a new pumping station, underground cooling water pipelines and a maintenance shaft, and construction of a turbine hall that will be used to house the power generation equipment and associated facilities.
