August 17, 2015

SINGAPORE - The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has opened a full Branch Office in Singapore to strengthen support for Hong Kong SMEs entering ASEAN markets.

Speaking at the launch, Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC, said the upgrading of the Council’s presence in Singapore from a Representative Office to Branch Office was timely, given robust economic growth in Asia and ever-closer connectivity between economies in the region.

She highlighted business and investment opportunities related to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, comprising the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Silk Road Economic Belt. The roll-out of this initiative would strengthen business, financial and physical connectivity within Asia, she said. www.hktdc.org (ATI).
