CHINA is moving into a phase of lower, but more sustainable growth, after more than a decade of double digit growth.
The slowdown is a short cycle, and figures for the past few quarters suggest that it has bottomed out and is picking up again. However, future growth is likely to be in the 7-8 per cent range — lower than the 10 per cent achieved in the last few years.
This is the view of Nicholas Kwan, Director of Research with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
